Battlefield Duathlon (Custom)

Coventry’s only Elite Cycling Team produced another brilliant set of results across several events and disciplines.
Lady Triathlete Ali Moult was in fantastic form in the Battlefield Duathlon, where she won the Ladies Race by a massive 10 minutes, and was only beaten by 2 of the male competitors.  Team mate Greg Ashley finished in 10th place.
Greg then went on to a much better performance in the A5 Rangers Hilly Time Trial near Towcewster, where he finished in 2nd place with a time for the hilly 15 1/4 mile circuit in 41 mins 38 secs; team mate Russell Green finished 7th fastest with 44-08 and they combined to form the winning team (which they also won last year).

Then on Sunday Greg rode the A5 Rangers 10 mile time trial which was held on a slow/hilly course near Towcester, here he finished 7th fastest and won the combined race championship over the weekend (15 1/4 mile hilly TT and 10 mile TT) – his 2nd victory of the weekend.

The Teams Road Race riders were in action at the Fletch Waltone event near Lutterworth. Derrick Woodings won the 70 km race for riders 75 and over – his second win in 2 races.  Martin Hackley followed up his win last week with 2nd place in the 70 km Race for riders 65 + and team mate John Stevenson from Warwick also finished 2nd in the 85 km Race for riders 50+.

With 4 Victories and 3 seconds over the week Team Director, Mick Ives, was very happy.  “The 2015 race season has only just begun and already we are into double figures with victories – things look very promising, especially as many of our top riders are still to ride their first event of the season.”
