Team Jewson–M.I.Racing–Polypipe, stormed to victory in the 50km course for the Shropshire Cycling Ass 4 up Team Time trial, near Telford–winning by over 1 ½ minutes–what was impressive , was that they did it with 3 riders only as 4th rider Tim Hastie, could not ride at the last minute. The Team was led by Balsall Common member Richard Shimmell.
Their winning time was 1 hour 8 mins 31 secs–a most impressive performance.
Meanwhile Leamington member of “Team Jewson” Laura Fuller won her age category in the Blithfield Triahlon on Sunday and finished 5th fastest overall showing great improvement.
Warwick’s leading racing cyclist and also a member of Team Jewson–M.I.Racing–Polypipe–John Stevenson was beaten into 2nd place , just inches behind the winner, in the Portsdown 50 mile Road Race. after a very attacking ride Stevenson started the winning move when 8 riders pulled clear of the main field on the very tough course near Portsmouth, the riders stayed clear till the uphill finish, and it was only in the final yards of the race that Stevenson was beaten.
Rugby’s Triathlete ( Team Jewson ) Greg Ashley , turned his hand to Ultra Running, when he contested the “ Dusk to Dawn “ running race a Caton Park–starting at 7-00pm and finishing at 7-00am, Greg covered 10 laps of the rain soaked 5 mile circuit, to claim 2nd place in his age group and 10 best overall–Not bad for a Cyclist, seeking some training for the Iron Man.
