Team Jewson—M.I.Racing’s star Lady Triathlete, 26 yr old Samantha Anderson, who has already represented Gt Britain this year-has qualified for the European Triathlon Championships to be held in Israel in 2012.
Samantha competed at the weekend in the very tough “Bala Tri “event in Wales, held over the full Olympic distance, of 1,500m swim in Lake Bala, followed by a very hilly 40 km Cycle and a final run of 10 km. The tough event was made much harder by gale force winds, and heavy rain, resulting in many competitors not finishing the course, the swim was particular difficult, with big waves and strong winds blowing the swimmers off course.
Samantha finished 11th fastest lady overall and 3rd in her age class, competing against many full time triathletes, this was an exceptional performance.
This is Samantha’s first full season with the powerful Coventry based Team Jewson—M.I.Racing squad,, and Team Director—Mick Ives said “ We are all very pleased with Samantha’s progress, a good solid winter programme , with members of our top Cycling section, will set her up well for 2012 .”
