Coventry based Team Jewson M.I.Racing Thule have several top Triathletes in their squad and it was Coventry’s Samantha Anderson who has been hitting the head lines during the past few weeks, with some amazing performances. Competing in the Bedford Triathlon, which was a qualifying event for Gt. Britain squad for 2013 European Championships in Turkey next June Samantha finished the swimming discipline in 2nd position, and kept that place after the Cycle ride, but suffering from bouts of cramp she dropped back to 4th place at the end of the running section. Still a brilliant performance which has now qualified her for the Championships next year, in doing so she beat the European Silver Medallist, in a very tough field of athletes.
This was followed by the Tenbury Wells 10 km Run where she finished 3rd Lady using the event as training.
This weekend Samantha competed in the Grafton Water Olympic Triathlon, which she won in brilliant style. Fastest in the swim, fastest on the bike and not only winning the ladies race, but finishing 24th overall, out of the 180 athletes. A really impressive performance and good form for the forthcoming European Champs in Nancy, France.
Samantha has also finished 3rd in the season long Midland Ladies Time Trial Championships, and 2nd in the improvement table, which ended this week.
Samantha is also a member of the Rugby Triathlon Club.
