Veteran rider Tim Stowe from Wellesbourne Near Warwick finished a brilliant 2nd in the Gorrick Torq sponsored 12 hour Mountain Bike Race at the weekend.
The event in Hampshire started at Midday on Saturday and finished at Midnight, a technical 8 mile course with long stretches of Single Track and long Climbs tested the riders. Added to that a short burst of rain making things tricky in the wooded section. Tim completed 14 x 8 mile laps – a total distance of 112 miles. He will now wind down his racing and prepare for the forthcoming Cyclo Cross season.
Team Mate Derrick Woodings won the Andy Hardy Memorial Road Race for riders over 75 years at Towcester Northamptonshire. The former Professional was using the race as training for the forth coming U.C.I.World Masters Track Championships at Manchester in a few weeks tome. Woodings was World Masters Champion in 2013.
