Team Jewson–M.I.Racing–Polypipe’s British Veteran Cyclo Cross Champion–Phil Roach (Rugby) continued his impressive build up to the British and World Championships, when he competed in Round 4 of the British National Cyclo Cross series at Milton Keynes on Sunday.

Roach got off to a flying start on the very muddy and technical circuit churned up the day before when the World best riders contested one of the World Cup series events there.  There were several falls on the adverse cambers and muddy descents for just about every rider including Roach, who in one incident smashed his brake/gear lever when he collided with a wooden post.  It was a 3 way battle throughout, and eventually Phil had to give way to Series Leader –Chris Young a former Professional Road Rider and King of the Mountain in the Tour of Britain, but he had the consolation of beating last weeks winner Tim Gould , another Ex Professional , and one of the worlds leading Mt Bike Professionals in the 90’s

Roach maintains his position of 2nd place overall in the series.

In Wales   Team member Mark James won the latest round in the Welsh Veteran series at Gilwern nr Abergavenny , and finished 5th overall in the Senior /Veteran event.
