Cyclo Cross Star Phil Blacker showed he is still in good form in preparation for next seasons Cyclo Cross events, by winning the Stourport on Seven Circuit race.  On the purpose built circuit Blacker broke clear of his rivals early in the race, along with just more rider, and soon left him to ride solo to the finish.  The week before he had finished 2nd on the same circuit.  Blacker will keep in good shape ready for the 2015/16 Cross season which gets underway in September.

Shipston on Stour youngster Jonathan Wears once again just missed out on a Podium place, this time it was in the Holm Valley 25 mile Time Trial in Yorkshire.  Jonathan finished in 5th place, a few seconds behind the 3rd place rider with a fast time of 55mins 46 secs.  The event was held in very windy conditions.

Jewson’s lady rider Stephanie Peters from Atherstone, is making big improvements each time she competes, this time it was the Stafford Hilly 23 mile Time Trial where she finished 3rd fastest Lady and 2nd fastest Veteran Lady beating her personal best for the course by over 3 mins

Peter Smith continues to dominate the Milton Keynes Evening series this time with 2nd place in the 1 hour long circuit race, and now leads the series.

Coventry Mountain Biker Peter Busby is now firmly established as one of the leading Veteran riders in the Midlands with an impressive list of top performances to his credit.

Pete finished 11th in the British National series event at Builth Well, Wales; with team mate Tim Stowe  in 15th place; and a rare appearance by World Masters Cyclo Cross Champion Phil Roach from Rugby, who rode the event for a bit of fun and finished a very creditable 25th.

On Friday Evening Busby finished 2nd and Tim Stowe 5th at  Delapre Park , Northamptonshire, in what was a very fast race.  Busby won the series last year, with Stowe in 3rd place

Over 60 entries have been received so far for the Battle of Edge Hill 96 mile Road Race on Sunday 28th June with riders coming from all over the U.K.

The event, organised by M.I.Racing, is the Toughest, Longest and Richest Veterans Road in the U.K. and carries a prize list of over £2,000-00

The event is centred around the village of Kineton and includes 2 climbs of Sunrising Hill and 2 climbs of Edge Hill.  For more details contact mickivesbikeking@gmail.com
