Team Jewson–M.I.Racing–Polypipe World Cycling Champion–Phil Roach ( Rugby ) continued his fantastic run of success with 2 more brilliant performances at the weekend.
On Saturday afternoon , Phil finished 2nd , just b30 secs behind the winner National Champion Tim Gould, in the Notts and Derby series at Broxtowe Park , Nottingham–the 2 riders fought out a fierce battle for most of the very muddy race, until Roach was forced to make a Bike Change , which cost him time, –time that he never recovered–both riders caught and passed ALL of the 40+ veterans that had started ahead of them.
Then on Sunday morning Roach travelled to Ipswich to take part in the event at Trinity Park.
Winning by over 3 mins on a dry course which consisted of technical corners and several sections on Sand–much to the Champions liking. With an average speed of 22.3 km /hour all offroad.
Phil still has 2 more event to race before his brings to his close the most successful season of his cycling career.–LVRC National Champion–Welsh Champion and UCI World Champion.
Team Director Mick Ives says “ You cant ask for much better than that–Phil’s dedication to training and preparation is 2nd to none, and he has been rewarded for his time and efforts–an inspiration to his ever growing band of supporters,– “
