Team Jewson–M.I.Racing–Polypipe–McCann, have found a new Cyclo Cross star–42 yr. old Lindsey Nell , who only started racing at the end of last season, then followed it up with a full season of Mt Bike Racing –during which she achieved several wins, is now into her 2nd Cyclo Cross season , and now a regular on the winners Podium.
On Saturday , competing in the Central League Cyclo Cross at Kettering, Northants, she finished 3rd in the Ladies race , and 2nd best Veteran, , , storming thro the field despite the very slippery conditions , following overnight frost.
Then a few hours later, she repeated the result , finishing 3rd fastest Lady and 2nd best Veteran , in Rd 10 of the Midland Cyclo Cross league , at the event at Allesley stadium, Wolverhampton.
The next big target will be the Midland Championships , in 2 weeks time, and the LVRC National Championships at Warwick on Wed 28th December.–which will be organised for the 6th year by Team M.I.Racing.
Coventry’s Peter Busby , continued his excellent form to place 5th in the Veteran 50+ race at Kettering , and followed it up on Sunday morning with 4th place at the Wolverhampton event.
Rugby member and current 55+ World Champion ,Phil Roach–showed he is getting back to top form ,, when he won the 55+ race in the Notts and Derby event on Saturday , with team mate Harvey Levann in 5th place.
Sunday’s race at Allesley Stadium , spelt success for other members Team M.I.Racing British Champion Kirby Bennett finished 2nd in the over 50 race , and was 1st over 55, team mate Phil Roach finished a few seconds behind in 3rd overall and 2nd 55, and new team member–Ian Wright finished 4th overall and 3rd over 55, making it a 1–2–3 for the team in the over 55 race.
John Gabriel finished 3rd in the 65+ race and evergreen Steve Knight finished 2nd in the 40+ race in the afternoon and 1st over 45 rider, increasing his lead in the overall series.
Coventry member Enya Tabrum recorded her best ride this season , with a brilliant 5th place in the Ladies race.
