“TEAM ENABLE” back to winning ways.
It was business as usual for Team M.I.Racing and their Stratford-upon-Avon sponsors, “ENABLE”, when Midland Cyclo Cross series Champion Nick Whitley won Round 1 of the Welsh National mountain bike series at Llandegla, near Wrexham.
Nick was a clear winner in race for riders 50+, and was joined a few hours later by Team Mate Ryan Henry who won the race for riders 40 and over – this was Ryans first victory of the season and, like Nick, he is a top class Cyclo Cross rider who recently won the Leicester Cyclo Cross series.
The Teams other competitor Lindsey Newman, finished a brilliant 2nd in the Ladies 50+ event – 3 podium places at 1 event is very impressive.
Time Trial rider 55 year old Simon Law made his first appearance of the season a good one by finishing a brilliant 4th fastest overall, and fastest 55 plus rider in the Stratford cycling Clubs open promotion on the Princethorpe course, with a time of 21 minutes 46 seconds.
Taking part in the Coventry C.C. Mid Week 10 mile event on a very cold and windy evening Andy Jackson was the fastest Team Enable M.I.Racing McCann rider, with a 24 minutes 39 seconds (2nd fastest of the evening). Team mate Mark Wise riding a standard road bike was 3rd fastest overall in 24-47 and Dave Ashworth also on a standard road bike finished 5th with 28-56.

It was a brilliant performance by the 45 yr old rider from the Lake District, as he punctured on the 3rd of 5 laps on a section of Offroad , and had to Ride and Run for about 1/4 mile before he was able to obtain a spare wheel , at that time he was 1 min 40 secs behind the race leader , but chased and took the lead with 5 km to go –a much deserved victory
