ENABLE Rider for Games
Andy Oliver a member of Team Enable–M.I.Racing–McCann, has been selected to represent Great Britain in the Warrior Games in the U.S.A.
The Warrior Games is the American version of the Invictus Games where injured Armed Forces Veterans from all 3 services, compete in a variety of conventional and adaptive sports. The U.S. Air Force are having trials to pick their team for the Warrior Games and have invited a team from G.B. (plus other nations) to provide some healthy competition.
The Trials take place between 20 February and 5 March at an Air Base in Las Vegas. The Opening Ceremony will be viewed by streaming services Andy will be part of a 30 strong squad, representing G.B..and will participate in cycling, indoor rowing and swimming events.
Andy has only recently had major surgery to remove a large metal plate from his leg the result of his injuries whilst in the armed services, but has made remarkable progress with his cycling and was part of the Teams Winning Time Trial squad last season.
As a Junior Andy competed for Coventry Olympic, before joining the Armed Services, and later in life returned to the sport as a Veteran rider, and is very much part of Team Enable’s Time Trial squad.
Team Boss Mick Ives said, “Andy has showed great determination to get back to full fitness following his major operation just 12 months ago, and I know he will surprise many with his progress this season. I am sure he will be a regular member of our winning teams. He was voted the most improved team rider last season and we all wish him every success.”
