Here’s the corrected text in UK English:

Simon Law, a Nuneaton member of Team Enable-M.I.Racing-McCann, had a brilliant ride when competing in the Grand Fondo World Championships Time Trial in Dundee, Scotland as part of the recent World Cycling Championships. 27 nations were represented in the event, and Simon finished the course in 17th place and was the 6th best British rider. The 14.2-mile Time Trial was held in windy conditions on an out-and-back on a dual carriageway course.

Cyclo-Cross got underway locally, with the event at Wibtoft, nr Hinckley, and the team was represented by 4 of its members.

Tom Bradley from Warwick, riding his first-ever race, finished a very impressive 11th overall and 4th best Senior. Tom will now ride the forthcoming West Midlands series, starting in a few weeks’ time.

Alan Buxcey from Leamington Spa, back racing after several years, finished 3rd in the over 55 section while Wellesbourne members Tim Stowe, the BMCR National Champion, finished 12th overall, and 2nd best 60+. Teammate Jimmy Goodwin finished 8th in the very strong 50+ race.

The team scooped the bulk of awards at the Midland Friday Night MTB series, which ended last weekend with the final event at Kettering.

In the final event, Ryan Henry won the 40+ event. Nick Popham won the 50+ race, and Lindsay Newman was the winner of the Ladies Veteran race.

In the overall results, it was a similar story with Ryan Henry being the winner of the 40 yrs+, Nick Popham the outright winner of the 50+, and Lindsay won the Ladies Veteran Series, despite missing several events due to illness. In the series for riders 60 and over, Kirby Bennett from Burbage finished 2nd despite missing several point-counting events.

Attention will soon be on the forthcoming Cyclo-Cross season, which begins in 2 weeks’ time.

Team Boss, Mick Ives, said, “We will have the strongest line-up this coming season that we have ever had, including World Championship medallists and European Champions. They will be competing all over the U.K and possibly in some European races.”
