Triple success for Team Enable-M.I.Racing-McCann

A busy weekend of cyclocross racing for the Coventry based Team Enable-M.I.Racing-McCann resulted in more success.

On Saturday 18th in the Notts and Derby Cyclocross league, Nick Popham finished 3rd and Geoff Giddings finished 43rd in the Vet 50+ category.

A busy day on Sunday saw success in round 10 of the West Midlands Cyclocross league held at Top Barn near Worcester. In the 50+ category race it was yet another 1-2-3 for Team Enable with Darren Atkins 1st, Nick Whitley 2nd and Nick Popham 3rd. This was the second win of the season on this course for Darren Atkins. In surprisingly good conditions, Atkins power proved to be the deciding factor on the relatively fast course. In the same race Andy Jackson finished 52nd and Alan Buxcey 59th.

In the 40+ age category, Colin Miller finished 5th. In the Senior race, Thomas Bradley finished in 18th place.

In the Youth category race, Jefferson Tear-Verweij continued his excellent form with another win.

In the Vet 60+ race, Pete Busby finished 3rd and Tim Stowe finished 11th. This was an excellent race for Tim after several weeks off after suffering a broken shoulder in one of the earlier rounds.

In the woman’s 40-49 age category race, Lynsey Whitley finished in 10th place.

Also on Sunday, racing in the Central Cyclocross league, Lindsay Newman had an excellent ride to win the woman’s 50+ age category race. At the same event Carl Sturgeon finished 3rd in the men’s 50+ race
