It’s that man again! He may be the oldest active racer in Coventry’ based “Team Jewson–M.I.Racing–Polypipe–McCann”, but he keeps hitting the head lines with some outstanding performances, and last weekend 76 year old Mick Allen was victorious once more – this time in the Jewson sponsored 2 Stage Road Race for riders 60 yrs and over.

Organised by Team M.I.Racing , the event attracted 80 of the U.K.’s finest Road Riders over the age of 60, several of them ex-Internationals, or former Professionals.

Stage 1 was a 3 1/2 mile Time Trial – Allen was expected to win the 70 +class in the Time Trial but it was thought that Stage 2, which was very hilly, would be too much, but he won that as well, and finished up 1st on General Classificatio in the 70+ Cat beating former International rider Rob Stone.

Another member of Team Jewson, Steve Dunton, has been making a name for both himself and his Team, at the “Ron Day” Circuit series at Milton Keynes. Steve who joined the Team at the end of last season, has knotched up 5 wins and 2 seconds in 7 races and now leads the series.

Ben Rooney continued his excellent run of success with a fine win in the Rugby R C C Evening 25 mile Time Trial recording the very fast time of 55 minutes 15 seconds.
