“Jumping Jack wins Sprint” Warwick Junior rider Jack Fothergill riding for “Team Jewson–M.I.Racing–Polypipe–McCann–7 formation” cycle race team was in fantastic form during the week claiming victory in a 3rd and 4th Cat Senior Circuit Race at Mallory Park, Leicestershire.
Jack made several attempts to split the field but it all came down to a 60 rider sprint after 25 tough laps of the Motor Race Circuit which included a short, sharp climb each lap – and Jack was a clear winner.
Leamington Veteran, 54 year old Mark Wise was also in top form. Mid week he competed in the Solihull C.C. 10 mile Time Trial on the slow Knowle to Hatton and return course finishing 4th fastest with a time of 22 mins 2 secs. Team mates Jack O’Neill riding a standard Road Bike instead of his normal Time Trial Aero machine recorded 23 mins 30 secs and Alice Hall finished with a time of 26 mins 45 secs.
3 days later Wise was in action again this time it was the Aylesbury Open 10 mile Time Trial, in which he recorded the excellent time of 20 mins 34 secs, for a very high placing.
