“HEY JUDE “Junior star Jude Chamberlain a member of “Team Jewson–M.I.Racing–Polypipe–McCann-7 Formation” just failed to pull off a sensational win on stage 3 of the Junior Classic.

The 3 day Tour of the Mendips First year Junior Jude, already with victories in Cyclo Cross, Road and Time Trials this season was competing in the latest round of the National Junior Road Race series against the very best Junior riders in the U.K. where Stage 3 was by far the toughest stage – 70 miles over a very hilly course not far from Cheddar Gorge.

Attacking from the start up the 1 mile climb, Jude forced a group of 6 riders to break clear and at one point they had a 5 minute lead over the main field, including the National Champion already wearing the Race Leaders jersey. A vicious chase on the closing laps resulted in the group including Jude being caught just 1 1/2 miles from the uphill finish. He eventually placed 28th overall out of 80 riders and finished 3rd in King of the Mountains competition but should be very proud of his brilliant performance.

Another Junior member of the Coventry based team Jack Fothergill from Warwick was also in brilliant form during the week competing in the latest round of the P.B. Performance series at Mallory Park, Leicestershire. An early attack by Jack with 2 other riders later to be joined by 5 more before reducing the group down to 7 and in the final sprint Jack crossed the line in 2nd place but still retained his lead in the series.

Another member Jack O’Neill, finished in 7th fastest place in the Coventry Cycling Club’s Open 10 mile race held on the Dunchurch/Ryton course, with a brilliant time of 21 mins 2 secs. Diana Egerton Warburton recorded 24-01 for 8th fastest in the Ladies event and Alice Hall timed in at 27-12.
