The Victories continue to come for Coventry’s only Elite Cycle Race Team “Team Jewson—M.I.Racing—Polypipe—McCann”
50 yr old Richard Oakes—better known for his Track racings performances, rocketed round the undulating 15 mile course at Welland, near Malvern, Worcestershire on Saturday, just 3 seconds short of the winner who was 5 years his younger and a specialist Time Trialist—Richard had won the event 12 months earlier.
Not far behind with 3rd fastest Veteran was Radford Semele rider 54 year old Mark Wise his team mate and the pair of them made up the winning team combination representing the LVRC via the VTTA.
Richard recorded the very fast time of 32 mins 57 secs and Mark recorded 33-53.
Team mate John Stevenson did not start, and Jack O’Neill had several problems to record what was for him a very slow time of 33-37.
All 3 riders will be part of a very strong representation for the Team in the forthcoming LVRC National Time Trial Championships Organised by Team M.I.Racing –Sponsored by Jewson and held at Napton, in South Warwickshire, on Sunday 28th April.
Further afield 6 members of the Team competed in the Classic “Ronde van Vlaanderen“ Sportive rides in Flanders, Belgium, taking in the classic Cobbled Climbs used in the Tour of Flanders race the following day.
Racing at Mallory Park closed circuit begins this week, organised by Team Jewson—M.I.Racing.
