Team Enable – M.I.Racing – McCann’s young stars take the honours.

It was another great weekend of results for Team Enable-M.I.Racing-McCann.

The young stars of the team shone bright last weekend, with Hinckley based rider Oliver Searle making it two hill climb wins in two weekends, when he took the honours at the Coalville Wheelers ‘Pistern Hill’, hill climb event held just north of Ashby de la Zouch.  Jefferson Tear-Verweij won the under 16’s race at round 8 of the Central Cyclocross league in Milton Keynes on Saturday. In the same event, Darren Atkins finished 3rd in the 50-59 age category race and Ray Cochrane finished 10th and Pete Mooney finished 22nd in the 60+ age category race.

Heading north on Sunday, Jefferson then won the youth category race in round 9 of the West Midlands Cyclocross league held at the National Sports Centre in Lilleshall, Shropshire. At the same event, as racing conditions deteriorated quickly due to rain and sodden ground, Nick Popham rode to another excellent victory in the Vet 50+ race, followed by Darren Atkins in 2nd place, Nick Whitley in 4th and Andy Jackson in 60th. In the Vet 60+ race, Pete Busby finished in 3rd place. In the veteran 40-49 age category race, Colin Miller finished in 5th place. In the women’s race Lynsey Whitley finished 8th in the 40-49 age category race.
