Amazing start for Team Enable!
Team M.I.Racing began the 2023 cycle race season on January 1st. with a new Main Sponsor–Enable, the International Software Company from Stratford on Avon.
Team Captain, Darren Atkins from Kenilworth, started the ball rolling on the 2nd of January by winning the Cyclo Cross race at Cattows Farm, in Leicestershire, and by the end of January the Team had recorded a fantastic 16 victories in individual and overall series events in the U.K.
Team Boss Mick Ives said, “Its the best ever start, we could have wished for, and I know our new sponsors are delighted with the results, but I feel its only the tip of the iceberg. Since November, 8 new riders have joined the Team, the very latest to sign last week is a former European Champion, and he will compete in Mt Bike–Cyclo Cross and Enduro events for the Team. It is possible that a former World Championship silver medallist, could soon become part of the squad as well!”
Last week, one of the Teams recent signings, Nick Popham, competed in his first event, a 4 day International Mt Bike Stage Race on the island of Lanzorote, finishing a brilliant 7th. He was 6th on the 44 km stage 1, 7th on 54km stage 2, 5th on 21km stage 3 and 11th after a crash on the 82km stage 4. He will now prepare for an assault on the U.K. Mt Bike season beginning in a few weeks time.
