66 year old Kirby Bennett form Burbage near Hinckley riding for Coventry based Team Enable–M.I.Racing–McCann, was in brilliant form on Friday evening, when he won the over 60’s race at the Friday Night Mountain Bike series held at Delapre Abbey, Northamptonshire.

Starting behind the over 50’s race, Kirby worked his way through the field to cross the line in 4th place and clear winner of the 60+ race!

Team mate Peter Busby also produced a great ride finishing 3rd in the 60+, with Tim Stowe 7th and Phil Roach 9th.

In the 50+ race it was a victory for Nick Popham, his first of the season, with his Triathlon Team mate Greg Ashley riding his first mountain bike event for many seasons in 28th place.

Another victory for Lindsey Newman in the Ladies Veteran race, and 4th best lady overall. A race with many mechanical problems for Ryan Henry in the 40 + Veteran event, but he battled through and finally finished a brilliant 5th.

3 team members contested round 3 of the National Mountain Bike series at Winchester. Nick Whitley finished 6th in Grand Vets event (over 50), Tim Stowe finished 5th and Kirby Bennett 11th in the Super Vet (over 60) races, made very difficult with deep mud around the course.

Time Trial members were in brilliant form at the VTTA Aylesbury 10 mile event in Buckinghamshire with Simon Law recording 20 mins 34 secs, Mark Wise 20-55 and lady veteran Didi Egerton Warburton 22-51 all recording their fastest times of the season despite a strong wind. Didi was also 3rd fastest Lady overall – they finished 3rd fastest Team.

Malc Moore from Burbage near Hinckley was back to something like his best form winning the over 60’s Midland Aerocoach 10 mile Time Trial and following it up with victory in the 60+ section in the Leicester Road Club Hilly 27 mile event.

Team Enable riders finished 1st and 2nd fastest in the Mid Week Coventry C C  and Leamington C and A C  10 ml event at Princethorpe

Simon Law recording 20-42, –Mark Wise  22-00, and team mates Andy Jackson–4th fastest with 22-53, Dave Ashworth was fastest rider on Std. Road Bike with 26-49.

Zoe Shepherd finished 3rd on Handicap in the Diana Cooke Memorial 10 ml event at Dunchurch.

Another good week for the Enable sponsored team with 6 victories in events around the U.K.
