Another great week for the “Team Jewson–M.I.Racing–Polypipe–McCann,” cycle race team at 8 different venues.
The team were winners of the Hinckley 4 up Team Time Trails on Sunday, held over a distance of 25 miles in fine but blustery conditions. Mark Wise, Simon Law, Ben Rooney and a guest rider, recorded the time of 54 minutes 5 seconds on a course based on the Warwickshire-Leicestershire border.
Further north 42 year old Tom Parsons confirmed his position as one of the U.K.’s leading Hill Climbers, by finishing 2nd just 1 second behind winner and former National Champion Adam Kenway in the Matlock C C promotion on Winster Hill. Tom will be targeting the National Championships at the end of October.
Tom followed this performance with overall victory in the Harvey Haddon circuit series at Nottingham by 3 points. This is his first season with the M.I.Race Team
Mark Wise continued his excellent form by winning the Coventry C.C. evening 10 mile event, held on the Daventry to Dunchurch road. Mark recorded a time of 21 minutes 19 seconds, with team mates Andy Oliver recording 22-50 and Andy Jackson, 22-52.
New member Lady Veteran Zoe Shepherd finished 2nd lady in the Rugby R.C.C. Napton circuit Time Trial in 42 minutes 6 seconds.
On Monday evening, the Team of Mark Wise, Ben Rooney and Simon Law finished 3rd in the Rugby R.C.C. event at the Mallory Park Race 10 mile circuit, including 8 times up the hill, in 22 minutes 36 seconds.
The team also had a mixed team of Andy Oliver, Diana Egerton-Warburton, fresh from her victory in the Israeli National Championships and Alice Hall recording 24-39 and a Senior / Veteran team of Jack O’Neill, Jeff Baird and Andy Jackson with 24-45.
Zoe Shepherd and Greg Ashley also took part in 2 composite team making it 11 team members competing in the event
Road Racing members were also in action Malc Moore, recovering from a recent illness, finished 2nd in the V.C. Sevale Road Race at Pershore, Worcestershire, and team mate Jeff Baird was 5th in the Ludlow Breweries event over 50 miles.
Its been a very busy week for the team with some outstanding results
