Brilliant Week for Team Jewson–M.I.Racing–Polypipe–McCann–7 formation3 Victories–a second and a third place in races across the U.K.
It’s been a very bust week for many of the team. 74 year old Mick Allen was the star of the week with 3 victories in Open Time Trial events setting new age records in 2 of them in the process. Allen won the 60+ race in the East Anglian 10 mile event near Cambridge in a New North Midlands Age Related record with a time of 22mins 7secs and then he followed this with victory in 60+ race in the Leicester Road Club 25 mile Time Trial held near Newark with an amazing time of 58 minutes 1 second – once again setting a New North Midland record for his age. Finally victory in the Rotherham Wheelers Open 10 mile race at Cukney with a time of 23 mins 44 secs – winning 1st on Standard in the whole race.
Warwick Junior member Jack Fothergill finished 2nd in the race for Juniors and 3rd Cat riders at Mallory Park Leicestershire during the week, and mountain bike ace Kirby Bennett finished in 3rd place in Round 1 of the British Mountain Bike National series at Monmouth., behind the current National Champion.
9 members of the team were in action on Monday Evening with 3 teams entered in the Rugby RCC 3 up Team Time Trial to take place on the Mallory Park race circuit.
Team 1 represented by Jack O’Neill, Mark Wise and former National Champion Matt Clinton, making his first appearance of the season came a fantastic third place overall only beaten by teams on TT bikes.
Mixed Team 2 Alice Hall, Didi Wharburton, and Andy Oliver were the best mixed team and Team 3 Dave Ashworth, Andy Jackson and Greg Ashley came 9th. A great turnout.
On Saturday Jack Fothergill will compete in the British Cycling National Junior Time Trial Championships in Cheshire.
