Team’s young stars shine bright.
The two newest signings to the Midlands based cycling team – Team Enable-MI Racing-Townsend Vehicle Hire – got off to a great start in round 1 of the Welsh cross-country mountain bike series. Held at the Royal Welsh Showground in Bluith Wells, sisters Holly and Layla Bradbrook both rode in very tough, muddy conditions, more suited to cyclo-cross racing. Layla, the current Welsh junior champion took first place in her junior race. Older sister Holly, riding her first season at elite level finished in an excellent third place in her race. The next round of the championships will be held on the 28th April.
Closer to home, Hinckley based rider, Oliver Seale had an excellent start to the racing season when he finished in second place in the Kettering CC Hilly Open Time Trial. The 20 mile route to the north east of Kettering was raced in near freezing conditions. Oliver finished in second place in the road bike category in a time of 47 minutes and 15 seconds. This was just under 4 minutes behind the winner and current British 10 mile road bike time trial record holder, George Fox. Teammate, Greg Ashley from Rugby, finished in ninth place in the road bike category with a time of 57 minutes and 39 seconds.
