Some excellent results were obtained by The Enable riders over the weekend.
Competing in the “CRANK” Mountain Bike race series at Lea Quarry, near Rawtenstall, Midland Cyclo-Cross Series Champion, Nick Whitley finished a brilliant 2nd, behind British Champion and Professional rider, Nick Craig with team mate Nick Popham in 7th place in the 50+ race.
In the race for riders 65+, former European Cyclo Cross Champion and 22 time British Champion, Roy Hunt finished a very close 2nd as well, but his team mate former Champion Jockey and Derby winner, Ray Cochrane, was unlucky with a puncture and retired from the event.
Further South, first year member Oliver Searle from Hinckley, riding only his 2nd ever road race (he crashed in the 1st one last week) took off from the start in the Northants Spring Road Race joined by another rider and that was the last the others saw of them until after the finish!
The older and more experienced rider easily outsprinting Oliver at the finish but a brilliant performance all the same, could this be another new star within the Team?
