New Sponsorship deal for Team M.I.Racing.

Team Owner and Director of Coventry based Team M.I.Racing–Mick Ives is proud to announce that for 2023 the Team will have a new main sponsor.

Following some fantastic 12 years with Jewson as the main sponsor, during which time the team has gained not only National but International success, and has produced world class riders now enjoying life as full time professional riders! Mick explained, “Last year the team celebrated its 25th Anniversary. 2023 is a new venture and I am pleased to announce that “ENABLE” the Stratford on Avon based International Computer Software company will be the teams main sponsor.

“Enable also have branches in Canada, America and Australia. As a result the teams race clothing has been completely re-designed.

“Several new riders are expected to join the team in the next few weeks, including a former European Cyclo Cross Champion and a Junior silver medalist at the  World Mt Bike Championships.

“The team will continue to contest ALL branch’s of the sport, except B.M.X. and Cycle Speedway, and will target as many major championships as possible, some of these could be abroad.

“Our riders compete 12 months of the year all over the U.K. and will give our sponsors continued exposure and publicity that I am sure of.”

What better way to start the new team partnership that by winning a race and that’s exactly what the teams star Cyclo Cross rider Darren Atkins did at the Leicester series race at Cattows Farm, Heather, Leicestershire on Monday. He was in fantastic form, riding clear of his rivals early into the race and setting a blistering pace that no one could follow, winning by over 1 minute, to claim his first success for 2023 and his 10th victory of the season.

Harvey Levann finished 9th and in the race for 60+ Kirby Bennett finished 3rd, with team mate Peter Busby in 4th place, both beating the current World Champion.

Tim Stowe finished off the pace in 9th closely chased by team mate Alan Parsons in 10th.

In the Ladies 50+ race Lindsay Newman finished 2nd.

Next weekend some of the team including Atkins will contest the West Midland series event on a new course at Wolverhampton and the following weekend 8 members of the team will contest the British Cycling National Championships at Milnthorpe in N.Lancs.
