At the moment, one of our riders, Andy Oliver is recovering from some surgery from the end of last year. Unfortunately it didn’t quite go to plan and he’s been forced to wear a knee brace permanently since January!
As a result he needed some more significant surgery – scheduled for the 11th July – which involves him having his tibia broken!
So, Andy can safely say this year has been a bit of a non starter. He has managed to get out on his bike with a modified brace so he can still turn a pedal but not in a competitive sense. Recently Andy’s just returned from a 5 day trip to France and managed to cover approx 250miles over the 5 days – which is fantastic!
Andy is now looking forward to next year and where he hopes to try again and will target one of the spring classics sportives as a starter.
We all hope you recover soon, Andy!
