Coventry based Team Jewson, M.I.Racing, Polypipe Cycling Team were in  cracking form over the weekend.  British Veteran Champion Phil Roach, finished 2nd in Round 3 of the National Cyclo Cross Trophy series at Durham , fighting out a 3 rider finish right to the line.  At Hafren Newton, in Wales Mark James finished 1st Veteran and 4th overall in the Welsh Cyclo Cross series event.

 And at Blackwell Court, near Bromsgrove,Worcestershire, the team dominated racing.  Coventry’s Mike Riley, achieved his best ride of the season to finish 3rd in the under 23 years race.  Phil Blacker, maintained his lead in the overall series with a brilliant win in the Veterans race for riders 40 and over–taking the lead on the first lap and never in danger of loosing it.  Second to Blacker over the line was his team mate Steve Knight, who despite having a terrible start , ploughed his way through the 100 + field to take 2nd spot and also win the 45+ race, with team mate Lorrenzo Buratti in 3rd place.

 In the Race for Veteran Riders 50-54 Coventry’s Pete Busby led for the first half of the race before he fell and never regained the lead and had to settle for 2nd place.   Tim Stowe  ( Wellesbourne ) finished 2nd in the 55-59 race.  Barrie Mitchell won the 65+ race with ease, with team mate John Gabriel in 3rd position.

 On Saturday afternoon Tim Stowe finished 6th and best 55+ rider in the tough Notts and Derby series.

Another  brilliant weekend results, at 4 different locations around the U.K.
