National Champion Mike Twelves was a most impressive winner of Rd 3 of “Percy Stallard” National Road Race series, following a brilliant display of attacking riding.
Team Jewson–M.I.Racing–Polypipe rider Twelves a former Professional and International rider, showed his class, by breaking away on his own for over 30 miles on a tough, very open circuit, made even harder by gale force winds, at Limber , Nr Grimsby Lincolnshire against the best Veteran riders in the U.K. before being caught by 2 other riders a few miles from the finish–he finished the job off,
by winning the sprint for victory! Twelves has now won all 3 of the events in the 6 event series and has a clear lead in the overall competition–he won the series last year as well. With 3 events remaining , it looks very unlikely that he will be beaten., for the Championship.
In the race for riders 70+ World Track Champion Derrick Woodings finished 4th.
