Former British Hill Climb Champion, National Circuit Time Trial Champion and CTT Champion of Champions, 35 year old Matt Clinton, from Kenilworth, Warwickshire, will be back in competition in 2021.
3 years ago Matt stopped competing, got married, started a family and a new career as an Estate Agent.
2 years ago he joined the very successful Coventry based Cycling Team “Team Jewson–M.I.Racing–7formation–Polypipe–McCann ” with the aim of getting back to what he loved best, cycle racing.
Already training, Matt will aim to slowly ease into the Time Trial scene and hopes to be in contention to have another crack at the British Hill Climb Championships which are scheduled to take place on Whinetts Pass in Derbyshire at the end of October.
Team Boss and Owner of M.I.Race Team, Mick Ives is planning to have a strong team of riders with him for that event, including Coventry based Jack O’Neill, a former team mate of Matt, when they both rode for Mike Vaughan Cycles, Kenilworth.
Ives said, “I am delighted to have on board a rider with so much talent and experience. Other riders in the team will benefit greatly as Matt is a Level 3 Coach; he has been there and worn the t-shirt so to speak. He will get my full support that’s for sure!”
