Mike Twelves

Mike Twelves (Hinckley) riding his first full season for 23 yrs, gained yet another victory, this time at the Milton Keynes Bowl circuit on Tuesday evening.

The former International rider who finished 6th in the Milk Race Tour of Britain, when riding for Gt Britain Team broke clear at half distance, to be joined later by 2 riders from a younger group, they only stayed with him for 4 laps, and then he left them to win on his own
On Sunday Twelves finished 3rd in the race for riders 45yrs and older in the North Bucks 36 ml road race Nr Towcester, and then rode back home as extra training.

Also at the North Bucks race, Martin Hackley (Dunchurch) finished 2nd in the race for riders 60 and over and team mate Derrick Woodings was 3rd in race for riders 70+ both over distance of 30 miles.

Mick Ives (Baginton) won his age group 70+ in the Severn Valley Velo 10 ml. Time Trial Nr Alcester, and the youngest member of Team Jewson, Joe Harris, won the Junior raceIt was Harris’s 4 Time Trial victory in as many rides.

Mountain Bike rider Tim Stowe (Wellesbourne) showed the teams colours with distinction once more when he finished a brilliant 3rd in the final round of the British Mountain Bike Nat series for Veterans, at Langdon Hills EssexTim had fought his way up to 2nd place at half distance, but dropped back to 3rd after a bout of crampIt was his final Mt Bike event of the seasonand after a short break, will prepare for the forthcoming Cyclo Cross season. He is a member of Team Jewsons National Championship winning team, from last seasona Championship they are out to retain in January at Bradford.

Next weekend Mick Ives and Pete Smith represent the Team in the British Cycling Federation/Cycling Time Trials National Championships, held on a tough circuit in the Vale of Belvoir. Former Jewson rider and British Junior Champion Josh Teasdale now riding for the Professional team of “OmegaPharmaQuick Step”, in Belgium, will also be riding..
